Melissa Murray is a superstar in the legal profession. In Part One of this two-part conversation, Melissa Murray takes us along on her journey from receiving a phone call asking her to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee during Justice Kavanaugh’s tumultuous confirmation process through her live remarks in the Senate Chamber. She shares her personal story growing up in Florida as the daughter of immigrants to her appointment as the interim dean of UC Berkley Law School at the age of 40 as well as her current position as Professor of Law at NYU. During Part One, Melissa tackles issues of gender and race within the law and society at-large, as well as how we can better bring these issues to life in the law school classroom.
