Episode 27: The Power of Don Corleone Compels You! - Film (31st August 2020)
‘The Podcast, or El Podcasterino, that’s not into the whole brevity thing.'
As Jeremy takes his annual holiday to Summerisle, Vince and Neil stock-up on exorbitantly priced popcorn and drinks and sneak off to the movies to watch some old favourites. Vince discusses the eee eee eee eees and tinkly tinkly tinkly tinkly tinks of late 70’s/early 80’s horror film synth scores, and reminisces about being tangentially involved in a pirate film smuggling operation from Amsterdam, and as Neil finds himself in the middle of a Dudester cult that drink White Russians and abstain from bowling on the Sabbath, he rhapsodizes over Michael Mann’s blue colour wash, and the music revolution ushered in by the Sony Walkman.
Then, both men try to rate Paul McCartney on an LSD Spectrometer, and take a juicy bite of Forbidden Fruit.

The films we discuss:

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

The Big Lebowski

The Exorcist

Manhunter

Magical Mystery Tour

The artists we discuss and rate on this show are Burt Bacharach and BJ Thomas, The First Edition, Mike Oldfield and Iron Butterfly. As always, The Beatles are our final topic of discussion.
