An experienced salesmen for thirty-five years, Ray Melvin began with Aflac and later was selling Healthcare Data Analytics with Benefits Science Technologies out of MIT. Ray states, “Selling is not your life, it’s only how you make a living”. The former fireman grew up in rural Indiana on a family farm; the son of an Army officer, credits his disciplined work ethic to hard lessons growing up. His key question in sales is, “Are you trying to do something in their best interest or your best interest?” “It is critical to discern what is the most productive thing possible you can be doing to close a sale at each moment in time”.
