SUMMER MEALS - Nearly 30 million children depend on their K-12 school to receive breakfast and/or lunch every day. However, when school is out for summer break, many kids lose access to these important meals. The USDA launched a NEW initiative this summer to provide summer meals for millions of children. The “SUN Programs” provide new grocery benefits, in-person meals, and to-go meals for kids and teens across the country. More than 21 million children are expected to benefit from the program this summer.
