KIDS DROWNING STATS - As summer gets underway, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging vigilance when it comes to water safety and kids. According to a new report by the CPSC, drowning is the leading cause of death for children aged 1-4 years, with an average of 6500 non-fatal drownings occurring every year between 2021 and 2023. The report also shows fatal drownings went up 12 percent between 2020 and 2021. Candice Cole is live in Washington with more on the report’s findings and what parents can do to keep their kids safe this summer.
