RENT CAP - The Biden administration is proposing a new way to keep your rent prices affordable, by capping national rent increases at 5%. The proposal, which is expected to be announced while the president visits Nevada today, would require Democratic control of Congress to become law. This comes as a recent report by Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies shows nearly half of renters spend more than 30% of their income on housing and utilities.
