However, that will soon be changing as the U.S. Senate has just sent a bill to the president which would recognize 6 Virginia tribes enabling them to compete for educational funding, repatriate the remains of their ancestors and bring them back home, as well as provide much needed access to health care for elder tribal members. Today on the NativeTalk.net radio podcast, we discuss this wonderful story, and acknowledge it as an issue of respect in honor of these tribes which are alive and well – surviving and thriving as a rich part of our Native heritage.
