Battle for the Top: Lessons from Martin Luther and King David
Manage episode 333271202 series 3279832
Preached on 31st October 2021
Synopsis: Exactly 504 years ago, on 31 October 1517, Martin Luther did an ordinary thing that gave birth to an extraordinary reformation that has totally reshaped the course of Christian history ever since. He sparked a debate that led to what church looks like today. In 1521 (500 years ago), he faced the most gigantic forces in the then known world (the Emperor and Bishops of the Roman Catholic church) and took a stand that led to his excommunication from the church. We see a similitude in how Luther faced these GIANTS in his battle for the top and how David faced his GIANT (Goliath) in his own battle for the top. What can their stories teach us?
Lessons from Martin Luther and David
- When ordinary and imperfect men display extraordinary courage because of their unwavering belief in an extraordinary God, extraordinary victory happens and takes them to THE TOP!
- Little is much . . . when God is in it!
- You win the battle to the top by focusing on your God and not on the giants in your way.
