Philippians 4:10-13 (NIV)
‘I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.’

Psalm 23:1 (Message)
‘God, my shepherd, I don’t need anything. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from.’
Adventure: An activity with an unknown outcome.

Reflection Questions:

1) Are comfort and safety bad? Matthew 8:20, ‘Jesus replied, ‘ ...the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.’ (NIV)

2) What pursuits may require that we sacrifice our comfort and safety? Matthew 10:39, ‘Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.’ (NIV)

3) Do you have a calling that may stretch beyond the borders of your comfort and security? Luke 14: 28,29, ‘Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost. . .’ (NIV)
