Temple: The dwelling place for the presence of God.

God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home. Ephesians 2:20-22 (msg)

The King’s Key Questions:

What do I give? How do I use the RESOURCES God has given me for the House of God? I have provided for the house of my God… and all kinds of precious stones and alabaster in abundance. 3 Moreover, because I delight in the house of my God, the [personal] treasure that I have… I give to the house of my God, in addition to all that I have already provided for the holy house… 1 Chronicles 29:2-3 (amp)

Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all…1 Chronicles 29: 12a (amp)

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your own hand we have given to You. 15 For we are [c]sojourners before You, and tenants, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope [of remaining]. 16 O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy Name, it is from Your hand, and is all Your own. 1 Chronicles 29:14-16 (amp)

How do I live? How do I use the RELATIONSHIPS God has given me for the House of God? Then the rulers of the fathers’ households, and leaders of the tribes of Israel, and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, with the overseers of the king’s work, offered willingly 7 and gave for the service of the house of God… 1 Chronicles 29:6-7 (amp)

Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a whole and blameless heart they had offered freely to the Lord. King David also rejoiced greatly. 1 Chronicles 29:11 (amp)

A Test made for Kings:

I know also, my God, that You test the heart and delight in uprightness and integrity. In the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. So now with joy I have seen Your people who are present here, make their offerings willingly and freely to You. 1 Chronicles 29:17 (amp)

In Your hand is power and might; and it is in Your hands to make great and to give strength to everyone. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:12-13 (amp)
