Today, we're diving into a question that's been on my mind lately:
“WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR THAT INNER CHILD?”

This thought resonates deeply with me, especially as I watch my own boys grow into men – so fast! It feels like just yesterday they were shorter than me. I was 17 when my eldest, Matthew, was born, and 19 when Martin came along. Time truly flies! Speaking of time tell me where in the world you're listening from. Are you catching this during the hot season in the Philippines? As if there’s other season. Even on rainy days here it’s still so freaking hot! Or maybe you're discovering this later in 2024 or even years from now, let me know! Come say hi on my Instagram @8joytotheworld8 – I'd love to connect with you there.

One of the reasons I love this podcast is because it allows me to revisit stories and moments from the past.

Whether it's a memory on Facebook or Instagram of friends you've drifted from, funny old achievements, or those friends you used to be so close with, you practically shared a face? And now, you’re low-key gagging just thinking about how you ever became friends with them? Or worse, dated them? We've all had those "what was I thinking?!" moments. It's like opening a time capsule and finding a photo of yourself with a questionable haircut and even more questionable fashion choices. You just have to laugh (and maybe cringe a little) and be grateful for the good times, even if they now seem like a distant, hazy memory.

I adore those glimpses into the past. But today, let's get back to that inner child.

As adults, life gets busy, right?

Responsibilities pile up – especially for parents, and even more so for single parents like myself.

Between work, kids, school, business, bills, and just trying to find a moment to breathe, it can feel overwhelming. And when you finally do blink, you feel like you've missed out on so much, even talking about it gets my heart racing a bit! And with all these responsibilities, it's easy to forget who we are, what we truly want, and what our real goals are outside of just "making ends meet.”

Remember that college major you wished you'd pursued before you became a nurse? That ideal partner you dreamed of before settling for JUST A convenience? Those fitness goals you had before you embraced carbs and calories a little too enthusiastically? That dream job you worked so hard for, but now feels like a soulless routine? Where is that inner child who dreamed without limits? That inner child who would do anything to chase those dreams? Think about those things you bought with such excitement, now collecting dust in the corner. Where's the joy you once felt for them? Are you spending your precious time with people who don't truly lift you up, just to impress them? Are those moments truly worth it? My friend, where is the meaning in all of this? Why are we KEEP complaining about our lives instead of counting our blessings?

So what would you do to please that inner child within you? What would you fight for to get back on track with the life you always wanted? Take a moment to reflect.

  • What can you do today to rekindle that spark?
  • To reconnect with your dreams?
  • To prioriti
