Meet YoungLives, a division of YoungLife, a world-wide organization committed to making a difference in the lives of our youth and adolescent parents in our communities. Join us as Tanya Layne, Coordinator for our Lexington chapter as we uncover the time, talent and resources invested by people in our community as they pour into supporting teen mothers right here in Lexington. With over 60 young lives touched since 2020, discover the inspiring partnerships and initiatives such as life skills classes, mentoring programs, and the unique celebration events like "baby prom" that are providing a beacon of hope.

We delve into how the generosity of the First Alliance Church, local partnerships, and community engagement through monthly dinners and Bible study sessions are forging deep connections, supporting goal-setting, and raising graduation rates amongst these courageous young moms.

The challenge of resources is ever-present, with a call to action for volunteers to step up—to hold babies, offer guidance, and yes, even mentor the young dads. We'll hear about the heartwarming purse auction fundraiser, the successes, the goals, including an ambitious plan to send 20 mothers to a summer camp designed to give them a slice of teenage life, while supporting them and their adorable little ones.

This episode is not just a conversation; it's a rallying cry for compassion, understanding, and community action. So, get ready to be inspired and find out how you can become part of the village that it takes to raise our children.

YoungLives is an outreach ministry for teen moms in Lexington & the surrounding area. We hope to support & invest in families during a challenging but very special time in their lives. Please reach out if you'd like to get involved.
