Investigative interview's aim is to replace "traditional" interrogation for the increasing efficiency of Law Enforcement agencies and it is a global world trend. The investigative interview directs Law Enforcement officers to conduct a full investigation of the crime and prevents the premature conclusions in the case.
In addition, investigativel interview is one of the most efficient method of preventing torture, as it is not focused on obtaining confession.
How does the transition from interrogation to investigative interview in Ukraine and other countries of the world is going? What exactly does it help in the investigation, and what arguments to use to convince Law Enforcement officers of the resultiveness of this instrument?
We talked about this and other things in our first podcast of the #JustTalk_World with Ukrainian and international experts.
Speakers:
🇨🇭 Andra Nicolescu — Senior Legal and Policy Adviser, Association for the Prevention of Torture (Switzerland)
🇺🇦 Taras Filonenko — Detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (Ukraine)
Moderator: Eugene Krapyvin — Еxpert at the Centre for Policy and Legal Reform (Ukraine)
