Who said dark-techno texturalists couldn't have fun? Paris-based producer and DJ Christelle is as kind as she is talented. She had me jealous with her teenage stories in the French Touch 2.0 era, but when the club scene turned to tech beats, she funneled her frustration into a hard-hitting, emotional, noise-based sound all her own.
She's also a mixed media storyteller, and I was amazed to learn the inspirations behind her politically-charged works, including a forthcoming piece that examines the cancerous pesticides currently wreaking havoc on her mother's home island of Martinique.
