Americans, and the rest of the world, could be in for a tough winter.

White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said that Americans should prepare for a harsh winter as the coronavirus is expected to surge due to cold weather and increased time indoors.

“We need to hunker down and get through this fall and winter because it’s not going to be easy,” Fauci told Harvard Medical School on Sept. 10.

That means Covid stress, Zoom happy hours, and bare shelves as the grocery store could once again become America’s reality. Combine that with the fact that we are going through a political election and both sides are exercising their rights to the extreme, and you have a recipe for disaster.

But it doesn't have to be that way. There are things that you can do that will make a difference.

Jeff Gardere, board-certified clinical psychologist and associate professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City, says "Instead of approaching this with fear and trepidation and dread, we just need to prepare ourselves as much as possible."

Despite experiencing endless amounts of change over the course of the last 8 months, the changes we need to make don't necessarily need to be as drastic.

Here are some tangible tips that will help you maintain a positive and prepared mindset as the pandemic reaches into a new season.
