At the age of 33, with an 8 month old baby, Joyce was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer not long after her husband, Kevin, , had suffered a brain hemorrhage, followed by 3 strokes and paralysis. A year later, when Kevin was 35, he was told he had late stage Metastatic Melanoma, the most aggressive and deadly form of skin cancer.
