The clash of Islam and Culture has been one that has only increased with globalization, in which the distinction between acts that are based on religious grounds are being more actively separated from cultural practices, whether its by Muslims who wish to remove innovated additions or Muslims who don't want to associate their religion with what is often seen as backwards practices in the West. However, many of us tend to throw away the baby with the bath water, and I try to argue (maybe badly looool) that culture actually has a very important role to play when it comes to our religion.
