When I look back at my childhood, and the friends I had, I don’t remember the size of their homes, or where they lived but the incredible food their moms served us, the mad sleepovers we had, the warmth and safety in their house and the trust we had in their parents to help us out in crazy situations. Cut to today and we come across a generation of parents who believe that happiness rests in materialistic things, and that reflects on our kids. They don’t need to choose their friends basis the cars they drive, the clothes they wear and the homes they live in. We need to remind them, when did that become a criteria for friendship.
