As a child, Marianne dreamed of becoming a writer when she grew up. She studied English and creative writing and got a job as a journalist after she graduated. With her novel in place, it eventually morphed into her current project which is Alzauthors, a global community of writers who are writing about all dementia from their personal experience.

After Marianne’s novel was published, she found herself living her own story for her stepfather got diagnosed with dementia. She was the one responsible for him, for he signed her to be his health care proxy and power of attorney. With her juggling her career, family and becoming a caregiver, she shared that once the doctor confirms the dementia diagnosis, the next step that needs to be done is to visit the attorney's office and start the paperwork.
