Joseph is joined today by West Valley Eagles Youth Track & Field Coach Fidel Burns and his son, John. Coach Fidel also coaches relays and sprints at St. Francis High School. After 16 years of coaching, Fidel shares his perspective on several topics, such as creating the environment in practice to prepare for the field of competition, overworking our kids, teaching life through sports, talking with multi-sport athletes and making sure there is balance, as well as keeping an open line of communication with your child. Coach Fidel tells parents to remember the day you first signed your child up for sports and wanting them just to have fun. He wants parents to make sure your kids are surrounded by positive peers with similar interests.
