David’s extraordinary story of resilience and courage begins in his early teens when he was very involved with sports but diagnosed with Fairbanks Disease or multiple epiphyseal dysplasia a rare genetic disorder affecting the growing ends of bones. He had to change his focus and tried golf but eventually had to give it up and he had the first in a long series of orthopaedic surgeries. He was also allergic to general anaesthesia. He describes his years of operations as he awaited his fortieth surgery as parts of his body wore out and had to be replaced and how he maintains a positive mindset. He is grateful to be living in a time where he can still thrive and inspire and help others.
