The self-imposed veil that obscures our view of the Lord Jesus Christ is removed from the elect at salvation. It remains with unbelievers. Once removed, ministers of Christ who are the Church, are sanctified day by day, step by step to become the letter of commendation that Paul references in chapter 3:1. The true liberty that the Holy Spirit gives, frees God's ministers to do the works He planned for them before time began. Paul encourages the Corinthians and us by extension not to lose heart but to live in that liberty.
