South Korea summoned the Russian ambassador on Friday to protest Moscow’s new defense pact with North Korea amid rising border tensions. North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, issued vague threats of retaliation after South Korean activists flew anti-Pyongyang leaflets across the border, prompting South Korea’s military to fire warning shots at North Korean soldiers who briefly crossed the border. The defense pact between Moscow and Pyongyang, agreed upon two days earlier, promises mutual assistance if either is attacked. In response, South Korea has hinted at providing arms to Ukraine. KRLD's John Liddle talked with Margaret Brennan from CBS' Face the Nation about the tensions.
