A former Marine from Trenton is accused of threatening to kill "as many [white people] as I possibly can," the feds say he wrote on social media.

The FBI says 23-year-old Joshua Cobb, who is Black, admitted to planning for an attack, possibly at a gym or supermarket in Mercer County. Prosecutors say Cobb posted online about his hopes for becoming a serial killer, writing, "I want to cause mayhem on the white community. ... I want to erase them."

Federal agents interviewed Cobb last month at a military base in Southern California. They say he talked about the "connection" he felt to notorious mass shooters and how he had access to guns, including 3D-printed weapons.

Court documents show Cobb joined the Marines last year and was discharged last week. He's being held in jail ahead of a bail hearing scheduled for Friday in federal court in Trenton.
