David Sweet grew up in Lake Forest and moved back to the city in the early 2000’s. He is a journalist who has worked for news outlets across the country including the Wall Street Journal, MSNBC.com, the Sports Business Journal and The Lake Forester. He currently is a contributor to Classic Chicago magazine and edits the Lake Forest Love blog.

In addition to his newswriting and columns, David is the author of two books: Lamar Hunt - The Gentle Giant Who Revolutionized Professional Sports and 3 Seconds in Munich – The Controversial 1972 Olympic Basketball Final

David received a Bachelor of Arts in writing from Dennison University and a Masters in journalism from the University of Southern California.
