It's the best event in sports and we're ready to cover the start of the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and more on the newest "Last Word On Sports Media Podcast."
Host T.J. Rives returns with guests Tyler Jones of "The Jones Report" podcast and George Ofman from his "Tell me a story I don't know" podcast series are ready to give their takes and insights.
Tyler and T.J. talk first about the new extension for ESPN of the College Football Playoff to the tune of six years and six BILLION dollars. Is it a good thing that ESPN still will wield so much control over the sport and it's post-season? Then, they talk the upcoming start to the tourney Thursday and Friday and which announcers for CBS/Turner that appeal to them.
Next, T.J. is joined by George, who has great insight into CBS TV stalward Greg Gumbel, who's been synonymous with the network's "Selection Sunday" show and coverage for over 25 years. George interviewed Greg for his podcast series about his role, etc. And, now this year, he's away from it due to a family health situation, but hopes to return to the CBS coverage next year. The guys also discuss some possible NCAA tourney teams to watch on the court.
It's all part of the "Last Word on Sports Media Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple, Spreaker, Spotify, etc.!
