High suicide rates in US soldiers linked to brain injuries caused by blast exposure

The US military just released a report revealing soldiers who regularly work with blasts have the highest suicide rates.The brain damage sustained is devastating and completely different to PTSD or CTE, sustained during football injuries.

Defense Department studies suggest most blast exposure happens in training, not combat operations. Bomb disposal experts and those who train and work regularly around large blasts were most affected, with 34 deaths per 100,000, compared to less than half that rate for civilians.
