Did you know that gut health is as crucial as sleep and mindfulness for our wellbeing but we often ignore it? How do we know if we are already experiencing digestive inflammatory? What is the impact of living with IBD?

Today, I was joined by Demi Ricario and we focused on the topic of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, a condition which most people find embarrassing to speak about. Is it as simple as hemorrhoids or diarrhea? If you already have this condition, why do you think it's important for your family and friends to learn about what you are going through?

In this week's Late Nights by Luna Manila episode, we talked about the challenges of going to work, managing relationships with others, navigating social situations, and the battle that has to be fought every day by someone with IBD.

About our guest:

Demi Dalisay Ricario born and raised in Quezon City is an advocate for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Demi moved to the U.S. in 2006 and was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2015. Since then, she has had to deal with diet and lifestyle changes, manage relationships with family, friends, and co-workers, and handle the social stigma of having an embarrassing condition. She created a blog called Dear Colitis to help create awareness of the disease, especially amongst Filipinos.
