Raquel Velez, Puerto Rico born and 1st generation CEO & Founder of AlpineParrot.com, is changing the outdoor fashion industry for women of color, one pair of Trekking pants at a time. She knew she wanted to create something amazing from the moment she saw a women show her classroom how she built a robot. Her journey from mechanical and software engineering gave her the confidence to break-fix the outdoor fashion industry by showing up as a plus size Latina with skills to tackle an industry that does not represent people of color in the outdoor space.
