Will Miller and Maris Brennan from MARVAC are joining forces again today to interview Jacob Brown of the Otsego Lake County Park in Otsego County, Michigan. It’s the first county-owned campground we’ve featured, nestled in northern (lower) Michigan, near Gaylord and Johannesburg, and within an easy drive to the Mackinac Bridge. The waterfront campground features 80 RV-friendly sites with either 50- or 30-amp electric hookups and has fill and dump stations available. There are also four onsite cabins for anyone who doesn’t own an RV. Otsego Lake County Park Campground also offers a handful of seasonal camping sites in 30-day increments for anyone who wants to settle in and explore the area.

In this episode, they discuss:

● Why the relatively shallow Otsego Lake is great for swimming, watersports, and fishing

● Which beautiful national forests and state lands you’ll find in the surrounding areas

● What “Wah Wah Soo,” “Irontone” and “Libke” refer to and why campers will want to remember their names

● The kinds of incredible events Otsego Lake County Park plans during the year – and what types of food trucks you’ll find there

● Plus, the number one destination in the area for your dogs, large or small

To learn more about Otsego Lake County Park’s picturesque 27 acres and its onsite campground, visit https://www.otsegocountymi.gov/. The camp is dog and boat-friendly, with an onsite boat launch into the five-mile-long Otsego Lake. You can also contact the park to make reservations at (989) 731-6448 from May through October, and at (989) 732-6521 from November through April.
