LAYKKAH is the brainchild of musician, producer and Dj George M. , retrieving references from the archives of the 70s and 80s, Laykkah's alchemy occurs when reviving those sounds within a variety of styles - Nudisco, Indie, Deep house, Synthpop and Tech House - against a backdrop of current beats and grooves providing the common denominator. The mission is to resuscitate buried gems and resurrect them with the nouveau, slick, polished sound that is Laykkah. This fast moving project within its initial 9 months has culminated in the release of 6 singles and an E.P. entitled "My Solar System" reaching No. 60 in the Beatport Indie Chart. A spin off of the E.P. was the single "Jupiter" co-written with British artist/songwriter Julie Hicklin gaining air play on UK radio inspiring DJs to remix the track. Following the success of Jupiter, Laykkah worked with Julie Hicklin to deliver a cover version of New Order's iconic "Blue Monday" receiving the blessing of New Order themselves to release it as a single. A partnership with drummer Nana Rizinni produced the cover of Elastica's "Connection". Laykkah is currently writing an album of original material featuring artists and collaborations from the Ozmuzik Records label. Simultaneously Laykkah has gained acclaim as a DJ debuting at Igreginga, Sao Paulo the most important Electronic club in Brasil and will debut at Freak Chic D-edge Sao Paulo , from here who knows.... probably headlining globally at the top 10 clubs in the world! www.laykkah.com
