Aer Lingus considering alternative options for passengers in pay dispute.

Roghanna eile do phaisinéirí á meas ag Aer Lingus in aighneas pá.

Aer Lingus will arrange alternative flights for customers, work with other airlines and hire extra planes if necessary, if flights are canceled due to the pilots’ industrial dispute next week.

Eagróidh Aer Lingus eitiltí malartacha do chustaiméirí, oibreoidh siad le haerlínte eile agus gheobhaidh siad eitleáin bhreise ar cíos más gá, má chuirtear eitiltí ar ceal de bharr aighneas tionsclaíoch na bpíolótaí an tseachtain seo chugainn.

The company is assessing the impact of the industrial action of its pilots next week on their services.

Tá an comhlacht ag meas an tionchair a bheidh ag gníomhaíocht thionsclaíoch a bpíolótaí an tseachtain seo chugainn ar a gcuid seirbhísí.

The Irish Airline Pilots Association IALPA warned yesterday that they will operate according to the rules from Wednesday 26 June onwards.

Thug Cumann Phíolótaí Aerlínte na hÉireann IALPA foláireamh inné go n-oibreoidh siad de réir rialach ón Chéadaoin 26 Meitheamh amach.

This means that the pilots will not do any overtime or any other tasks outside of their official working hours.

Ciallaíonn sin nach ndéanfaidh na píolótaí aon ragobair ná aon chúraimí eile taobh amuigh dá n-uaireanta oibre oifigiúla.

They will not be willing to log into Aer Lingus portal systems or answer work telephone calls outside of working hours.

Ní bheidh siad toilteanach logáil isteach i gcórais tairsí de chuid Aer Lingus ná glaonna teileafóin oibre a fhreagairt taobh amuigh dá n-uaireanta oibre.

Aer Lingus says there is no loss with this action.

Deir Aer Lingus nach bhfuil aon chall leis an ghníomh seo.

The company says flights will be significantly disrupted and cancellations are likely.

Deir an comhlacht go gcuirfear as go mór do eitiltí agus gur dócha go gcuirfear eitiltí ar ceal.

“IALPA was determined to announce industrial action, and as such they have decided to cause serious harm to Aer Lingus customers and other employees,” said Donal Moriarty, Aer Lingus Corporate Affairs Officer.

“Bhí rún daingean ag IALPA gníomhaíocht thionsclaíoch a fhógairt, agus dá réir sin tá cinneadh déanta acu dochar mór a dhéanamh, d’aon turas, de chustaiméirí agus do fhostaithe eile Aer Lingus,” a dúirt Donal Moriarty, Oifigeach Gnóthaí Corparáideacha Aer Lingus.

Union members voted overwhelmingly to reject the Labor Court’s recommendation to accept wage increases of 9.25% as part of an interim settlement.

Vótáil baill an cheardchumainn le móramh mór, diúltú de mholadh na Cúirte Oibreachais glacadh le harduithe pá de 9.25 faoin gcéad mar chuid de shocrú eatramhach.

The pilots are demanding increases of 23.8% in compensation for their cooperation with the company during the Covid-19 pandemic when the aviation sector was in a slump.

Tá na píolótaí ag éileamh arduithe de 23.8 faoin gcéad mar chúiteamh ar a gcomhoibriú leis an chomhlacht i rith na paindéime covid 19 nuair a bhí an earnáil eitlíochta ina lagtrá.

Aer Lingus says this claim is excessive, unreasonable and unjustifiable.

Deir Aer Lingus go bhfuil an t-éileamh seo iomarcach, míréasúnta agus dochosanta.
