Let’s talk about personal responsibility. Have you ever heard the phrase, “When you point fingers at someone, remember there are three more pointing back at you?” Taking personal responsibility for your actions and behaviors is a soft skill that many people have seemed to set aside and forgotten. Taking ownership of your mistakes as well as your accomplishments is an important trait to have in life, leadership, and business.

On today’s episode, I’m discussing the importance of claiming personal responsibility during the good – and not so good – things that happen in your life, why you shouldn’t always point fingers and place blame, and how taking ownership and responsibility of your actions and behaviors is the key to unlocking your personal success.

“Blame comes from a place of punishment. Responsibility comes from a place of repair.”

Today on Lessons in Life and Leadership:

  • Why people find personal responsibility scary or intimidating
  • Blame always equals punishment
  • How claiming personal responsibility can help you become more successful in life
  • The benefit of having a responsible mindset
  • Understanding the three spheres of responsibility and how to use them
