tu sei = you are (informal)

Lei e' = you are (formal)

lui/lei e' = he/she is

noi siamo = we are

voi siete = you are (plural)

loro sono = they are

andare = to go, andato = went

venire = to come, venuto = came

partire = to leave, partito = left

entrare = to enter, entrato = entered

tornare = to return, tornato = returned

arrivare = to arrive, arrivato = arrived

uscire = to go out, uscita = went out

essere = to be, stato = was

morire = to die, morto = died

nascere = to be born, nato = been born

Sono venuto in retardo. = I came late.

Le ragazze sono andate al negozio? = Have the girls gone to the store?

Il presidente non e' arrivato. = The president hasn't arrived.

Io (feminine) sono tornata stamattina. = I returned this morning.

Sei stato in Italia? = Have you been to Italy?

Non siamo partiti per l'italia. = We haven't left for Italy.
