Bear scares, bison encounters, a moose on the loose and a cute, playful red fox. These are just a few of the highlights of our travel adventures last year.
2021 was full of scenery and wildlife. Michelle and I started the year skiing in Vail, Colorado. From there we took in the gorgeous rock formations of Sedona, Arizona and central Oregon. Smith Rock State Park near Redmond, Oregon rivals many national parks.
We left the mountains for the beaches of Newport Beach in southern California in the summer. For the third straight year we rented a Moterra camper van in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. And once again the stars of the show are the wild animals and the breathtaking scenery. Bears, bison, wolves, moose and elk everywhere.
And Michelle’s fly fishing stories are epic, on Wyoming’s Snake River and Colorado’s Roaring Fork. We can’t forget the amazing golds and yellows and reds of Aspen in the fall. And we ended 2021 where we began the year … skiing in Vail.
In this episode of Let’s Talk! we tell the remarkable travel stories 0f 2021. We had two bear scares. One bear ran behind Mark as he lay in a hammock in the campground. What did we do? We chased after the bear! Not the smartest thing to do. Have you ever had a bear stare you down? From no more than 50 feet away? Thank goodness she was more concerned with another wild animal that was chasing her.
We saw so many bison, but one in particular did something on a narrow, two lane road that astounded us. Our goal this year was to see a wolf in Yellowstone. It was probably the highlight of our trip. When you’re tired and hungry and just want to head back to the campground after a long day of searching for wildlife, there was only one thing that stopped us dead in our tracks. And it was the cutest thing ever!
We hope you enjoy our incredible year. And we hope to make more memories in 2022. If you want to see these amazing places and animals, head over to our Youtube Channel by searching Let's Talk with Mark and Michelle. Thank you.
