Drew previews Liverpool's clash with heavily depleted Manchester United, who return to Anfield this weekend - the scene of their 7-0 humiliation earlier this year. The home team are themselves still missing a few key faces, however they are heavy favourites to inflict even more pain on Eric Ten Haag’s toiling team.
Both Liverpool and Manchester United suffered defeats in Europe in mid-week ahead of their Premier League match, but their situations couldn’t be any more different. While Jurgen Klopp fielded a shadow team for their dead rubber match against Union St Gilliose, which they lost 2-1, United were dumped out of Europe altogether after losing 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich. It was a result that saw them finish bottom of their Champions League group. Will they show more temporary shoots of recovery, or are they set for more Merseyside misery at the ground where they’ve failed to win in the last 8 seasons?
