About My Guest

Aaliyah Hussain is an activist, scholar, and empowerment coach connecting faith and feminism for soulful, spirited Muslim women to empower themselves and RISE. She says, "Muslim women have a long and active history of demanding their rights, and like women all across the world, have been at the forefront of social justice movements. Muslim women hold the key to their own empowerment, on their own terms, and do not need 'saving.' But change doesn't happen by itslef. WeRise is more than a women's empowerment organization. It is a movement and a call to action for Muslim women to be the change they want to see in the world."
