How do you handle screen time in your home?

Let’s face it - screens aren’t going away. We live in a day and age where screens are everywhere. But here’s the thing - they don’t have to rule our family’s lives.

While not all screen time is ‘bad,’ it’s important to understand the development of our children’s brains and how time on the screen affects that development. For instance, 90% of the human brain is developed by the age of 5.

When our young children are subjected to screens, their brains begin to think that they need that stimulation to stay entertained. In this episode, we aim to help you understand more about your child’s brain development and encourage you to make more educated decisions regarding their screen time.

If you’ve not limited screen time up to this point - take a deep breath - your children are going to be fine. This episode is not intended to bring guilt or shame. We simply want to help you navigate something that no other generation of parenting has had to navigate to this degree.

You’re doing great!

Episode Highlights:

  • What parents need to know about brain development.
  • Understanding brain stimulation.
  • Finding balance in screen time.
  • Letting our kids be bored.
