Anuradha Koirala is a Nepalese social worker and the founder of Maiti Nepal- a non-profit organization in Nepal, dedicated to helping victims of sex trafficking. Maiti Nepal today conducts a wide range of activities. Organizing awareness campaigns, community sensitization programs, rescue operations, apprehending traffickers, providing legal support to the needy, women empowerment programs, trainings, providing anti retroviral therapy (ART) to children and women infected by HIV are regular activities of Maiti Nepal. Miss Koirala received many prestigious awards throughout her life including CNN Heroes Award in 2010 and India’s fourth highest civilian award Parma Shri in 2017.
