Chris Leamy is a full-time trader at Morgan Stanley, as well as a singer and a songwriter. His life was changed forever after meeting a panhandler on the subway in 2015. The Panhandler said, “people who have a skill or a talent on the street tend to do a lot better.” Although it was said simply, it felt deep. After this incident, Leamy started befriending homeless men and women around Union Square in Manhattan. He would ask if he could sit next to them and jam on his own guitar. Then, whatever money the pedestrians dropped in his case, he would hand it to the homeless men or women. It also inspired Chris to start a social movement called #heplaysforme. He plays guitar and sings in Union Square on behalf of homeless individuals once a week. Not only money, he is also raising awareness for those in need. His hard-earned pennies have also allowed him to feed and clothe them. He has even managed permanent shelters and steady jobs for some of them, and thus help them get off the streets completely. 10 THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR: 1.
