9 | Clive Nates on why he invested in the Imps, the Cowleys and transfer agreements made on the tennis court
Manage episode 401807375 series 3520020
The Lincoln City Football Club that Clive Nates invested into in early 2016 is almost unrecognisable from the entity that now sits established in League One.
Who better to talk us through the incredible rise than Clive himself. He joins us to explain why he bought into the Imps, the appointment of Danny and Nicky Cowley and winning the Checkatrade Trophy at Wembley.
Along the way he gives us an insight into signings like John Akinde from Barnet, where the London club's chairman would only deal with him directly, plus we learn about a deal agreed on a tennis court and we learn which player was signed with Clive in the car park of a vets.
This is part one of two of our in-depth chairman with Clive Nates.
