The Hallmark Of Exceptional Leadership Whenever you live from a place of reaction, life is the master and you are its slave. Whenever you lead from a place of reaction, especially strong reactions, you fail to lead. There will always be storms. The question is, will those storms define you? Or will they elevate you to a new level of capability? It's always a choice. The hallmark quality of exceptional leadership is the ability to bring calm to the storm. Which requires rising above the chaos and living in the solution. Those two things. Get great at those two things and you get great at leadership. Rising above the chaos is about getting perspective. What's really going on? Living in the solution is about permanently resolving the problem. It's trading quick fixes for long-term, effective action. Both are born from a leader that calmly takes ownership rather than charging the hill. The latter is always about ego and rarely delivers long-term results.
