Jamaica born, Cornieta shares her early childhood experiences of having a single mother, education, and where her early turning points were. Having someone who believed in her took young Cornieta on a journey she couldn't have imagined. As a college athlete, Cornieta had a coach who taught her to take care of herself first, which would be a pivitol lesson for her future. Cornieta would then experience heartbreak that takes a person to the core of who they are. She miscarried twins. Cornieta shares how this experience has helped prepare her and her husband to be better individuals, a couple and soon to be parents. Cornieta has a bubbly outlook yet reminds us to embrace the opposition and look for the opportunity.
