This weekend, we celebrated the gift and calling of masculinity. The call to men is to be leaders, lovers, protectors and providers all under the banner of sonship. Today we will explore what it means to be a lover. Our culture has been so sexualized that when we say to men, you should be great lovers, it only carries a sexual connotation. Yet, God tells us that love is more profound than that. He tells us as men, that one of our primary roles is to love as Christ loved the church. This is a tall challenge that God can help us meet.
