ON SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2019, 33-YEAR-OLD BRANDON EMBRY WAS FOUND NUDE, UNCONSCIOUS, AND BARELY BREATHING IN A POOL OF HIS OWN BLOOD ON THE FLOOR OF HIS ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA APARTMENT. HE HAD SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT TRAUMA AND WAS COVERED IN BLOOD, BRUISES, AND CUTS. HE WAS SO SEVERELY INJURED THAT HE DID NOT SURVIVE. INVESTIGATORS WERE QUICK TO CONCLUDE THAT BRANDON’S CAUSE OF DEATH WAS PNEUMONIA. THEY CLOSED HIS CASE LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AFTER HIS DEATH, STATING THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO INVESTIGATE BRANDON’S DEATH AS A HOMICIDE. THIS STATEMENT WAS MADE DESPITE THE OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A STRUGGLE, BRUTAL ASSAULT, AND A GIRLFRIEND WITH A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, OBSESSION, AND PATHOLOGICAL LYING. BRANDON’S MOTHER, SARAH HOWEVER, IS DETERMINED TO MAKE SURE THAT HER SON’S STORY IS HEARD AND THAT HE GETS JUSTICE, DESPITE WHAT THE ASHEBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT FAILED TO DO.
