The offense wasn't much better, as the San Francisco Giants scratched across two runs late, which came when the game already felt out of reach. Meanwhile, the trade deadline came and went and Farhan Zaidi didn't fully commit to buying or selling, something that has hurt the Giants in past trade deadlines. The team's biggest move was trading away designated hitter Jorge Soler in a salary dump. Not exactly the type of move that directly sets the team up for future success.
