The Boston Red Sox pounded out 13 hits, including two home runs- on their way to an easy 8-3 win over the Miami Marlins in this series opener at Loan Depot Park in Miami.

Kutter Crawford pitched his best game of the season for the Red Sox, going six innings and allowing just one run on three hits while striking out seven and walking none. Crawford came into this game with a 3-7 record.

Jake Burger and Jesus Sanchez hit solo home runs for Miami, Emmanuel Rivera added an RBI single.

Ceddanne Rafaela hit a three-run home run for the Red Sox. Rafael Devers had two hits and two RBI's, while Masataka Yoshida went 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Red-hot leadoff man Jarren Duran also homered for the Red Sox. He has hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games.

This series is a homecoming of sorts for Red Sox Manager Alex Cora. Cora, the former University of Miami baseball standout, was inducted into the Hurricanes' Hall of Fame in 2006.

The Marlins and Red Sox play game two of this three-game series tomorrow, with first pitch set for 6:40pm ET. Trevor Rogers (1-8, 4.87) will start for Miami, facing Boston's Brayan Bello. (7-5, 5.55)
