Christopher Sanchez pitched a complete-game shutout- the first of his career- allowing just three hits while striking out nine and walking none, to lead the Philadelphia Phillies past the Miami Marlins 2-0.

On the day when the Phillies placed star hitters Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin) on the 10-day IL, Sanchez drove the Marlins nuts all night with his high 90’s sinker, changeup that dances like a knuckleball, and just enough breaking pitches to make him look like a wizard out there.

Leadoff man Bryson Stott drove in both Phillies’ runs, on a groundout and a sacrifice fly. Nobody in the Phils’ lineup had two hits.

Nobody in the Miami lineup did anything against Sanchez. Only two Marlins’ even made it to second base.

Jake Burger, Otto Sanchez and Vidal Brujan singled for the Marlins, who had no extra base hits.

These two teams play the third of this four of this four-game series tomorrow in Philly. First pitch is at 4:05pm ET. Roddery Munoz (1-3, 5.80) pitching for Miami, facing Phillie’s Aaron Nola (9-3, 3.39)
