On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in the Former Host of the show Frank Rekas(@FrankRekas) to to break down the Panthers' 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers to clinch their spot in the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back seasons. The Rangers had the territorial advantage but the Panthers' pressure on NY had gotten to the point where New York was throwing pucks on net hoping it'd stick. Florida cashed in on a give-and-go by Evan Rodrigues and Sam Bennett after Jacob Trouba missed a hip check, allowed a quick rush to the net where Bennett scored bar down to make it 1-0 before the first period ended. Florida once again went into takeover mode where they started doing something they had done all series, control play. The cats scored midway through the third period after a dump into the Rangers zone and after Eetu Luostarinen threw a check on K'andre Miller, the puck found Anton Lundell where he delivered a backdoor feed to Vladimir Tarasenko and finished is one-timer chance to break his eight-game goal drought. Florida held Alexis Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck to zero shots on net, and although Artemi Panarin got on the scoresheet on Saturday night, it was too little too late as the Panthers won the Prince of Wales Trophy for the second consecutive season. The two discuss the journey the franchise has taken from then to now, how the Panthers will play their game regardless of whether it's Edmonton or Dallas, and what they thought of the team not touching the Prince of Wales Trophy. We discuss this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.
