Aside from their starting pitching struggling again, so did the Phillies’ offense. They mustered just 5 hits in the loss and have now scored just 1 run over their last two games.

Mercado wasn't the only Phillies rookie pitcher to throw today. Tyler Phillips a South Jersey product made his big league debut in the 5th inning of Sundays game. He went on to throw 4 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 7, including the first 4 batters he faced..
